CPN-Maoist Centre leader and former Minister for Home Affairs
Janardan Sharma says recent provincial and federal parliamentary
elections witnessed violent incidents because a plan he prepared while
he was at the Ministry could not be implemented.
The incumbent minister without portfolio was relieved of his office after the Maoist party decided to form an electoral alliance with then
main opposition CPN-UML. Since then, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba
has been looking after the Ministry.
“I had prepared a plan after analysing likely security challenges of
the elections. But, we had to undergo various incidents as the plan
could not be rightly implemented,” Sharma who has recently won the House
of Representatives seat from Rukum West tells in an interview this morning, “The Prime Minister took charge of the
Home Ministry, but he could not directly command and control all
activities. Therefore, the violent incidents were more than expected.”
The leader complains that he could not implement a 84-point plan of
action that he had prepared after he took the charge of office. He says
he had also launched a campaign to make Kathmandu peaceful. “But, I had
to leave the Ministry around one and half months after launching the
campaign.”
Sharma says PM Deuba does not have a clear vision to lead the nation.
